A scientist is found dead in Detroit, along with an FBI agent. Two Russians are looking for the assassin who is not completely human. A crime boss want to take over the city, and the US government wants it all hushed up. But at the center is detective Jack Manson. This is the book that puts in motion the end of the world as we know, but they just don't know it.
After seeing the results of an enemy Interrogation of his partner, Agent Charles Smith decided to retire and move from his native home of London, England, to Detroit, Michigan, where an old friend helps him acquire a house. After seeing the horror of gang violence and witnessing the over-populated drug lord community Agent Smith decides to use his skills and do what the local law enforcement cannot, bring some kind of control to the chaos. Smith decides to disguise himself and travel at night searching out the scum of the city. The police are baffled because all that is ever seen from the mystery man is the tail lights of an old model black Jaguar. But wait this book takes place in the present day, and Jack Manson is in the fifties what has happened, well guess you will have to read it to find out.
